Week 1
With just one week to go until the ICD-10 compliance date of October 1, 2015, it is time to complete those final preparation efforts.
What do I need to know?
- Valid ICD-10 codes must be used for services beginning October 1, 2015.
- Claims with a date of service before October 1, 2015, will need ICD-9 codes even if the claims are submitted after October 1, 2015.
- The ICD-10 Help Line – 302-327-7610 - is available now. Beginning October 1, 2015, the hours of operation are:
- Monday – Friday – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
What do I need to do?
- Complete all assigned training by September 30, 2015.
- Complete any outstanding remediation tasks for your area and report the status to the ICD-10 team.
- Collect and discard any billing forms, job aids, and reference materials that contain ICD-9 information.
- Implement into your workflow new billing forms, job aids, and reference materials with ICD-10 information.
- Outpatient areas and Physician Practice locations should display Patient Communication signage (delieverd this week by member of the ICD-10 team) at your registration or waiting area
